  2. Those are tall words, but that is in fact what people were saying about Cactus when they hit the scene in Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, Jim McCarty and Rusty Day made an impression with their loud, blues-edged hard rock madness, with rockers such as Van Halen, Monster Magnet, Kings X., Billy Sheehan, David Coverdale, Kid Rock and Ted Nugent having been documented in interviews as fans /5(37).
  3. The Cactus Album is a hip-hop classic that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. MC Serch & Pete Nice are very underrated rappers in both their lyrics and their delivery. And like the Beastie Boys and De La Soul, they get their samples from a variety of sources (Blood /5(62).
  4. Come into Cactus Music and purchase your copy of Steve Earle & The Duke’s new album, “Guy” on CD [$] or LP [$] and receive a wristband to Steve’s ONLY Houston performance that evening. 6. Aug 10,  · The band didn't sell us short by putting 14 tracks on the record. Part of the Game & Blues for Mr. Day are tunes with a really good groove. Doin' Time & Day For Night are really well written. My favorite tune on the album is Muscle & Soul but Cactus Music isn't far behind. You won't be disappointed with any of the songs on this/5(37).

  8. A great album to start the 70's off with, (or it was). Still sounds great today, especially "Let Me Swim", sounds even better if you follow the instructions on the back bottom left. (This album should be played at "high" level. They also do a great cover by Wiilie Dixon, "You Can't Judge A Book By The Cover".
